TIBA INAYOPATIKANA KATIKA MKUNGU (Tropical Almond)



MEDICINAL USE:

  •  Soothes and protects the alimentary tract and relieves inflammation.
  •  Recommended for dysentery,diarrhoea,fevers,worms and inflamed mucous membranes of the urethra and vagina.
  •  An ointment for itching,rashes and other skin diseases.
  •  Relieves headaches. 
  •  Leprosy.
HOW TO USE:
  • The decoction of the leaves is recommended for dysentery,diarrhoea,fevers,worms,and inflamed mucous membranes of the urethra and vagina.
  • The juice of the young leaves make a good ointment for rashes,itching,and other skin diseases.Applied on the forehead,it relieves headache.
  • The sap of the young leaves boiled in the oil of the kernel is used for leprosy.

PARTS USED:

  
  The leaves and the kernels.
Dose
Hot infusion: Pour boiling water over the collected herb, steep for 15 minutes and strain. this method is used for flower  and leaves to make a tea of use away. It could also be used for powdered bark, root, seed, or resin and also for bruised nuts,seeds, bark, or buds.
Cold Infusion: Steep a cold water for several hours, and use.
Decoction: Here is hard parts of the plants such as twigs, root, barks, rhizomes, berries and some seeds are gently simmered for about 30 minutes in water so as to release their properties. Strain before use.
Normal Dosage
For Fresh herb or plant twenty grams are used for one liter of water. if a dried herb are used the amount of plant material should ten grams
For Adults: 4 or 5 cups a day
       Children: Aged 10 to 15 years 3 to 4 cups a day
                      Aged 6 to 9 years 2 cups a day
                      Aged 2 to 5 years 1 cups a day
                      1 to 2 years: 1/2 cups a day
                      Below 1 year: 1/4 or less cup a day

MEDICINAL USE:

  • Boils,tumours and skin abscesses(containing pus)
  • Gout and neuralgia or pain on the facial nerve.
  • Sciatica or infection of the sciatic nerve resulting in pain at the back of the thigh and leg region.
  • For the purpose of skin irritations.
  • Helps to fight tuberculosis
  • Helps fight diphtheria,throat inflammations and mouth ulcers
  • For the cure of bronchitis and stubborn coughs.
HOW TO USE:

  • The decoction of the seeds makes a good remedy for the cure of boils,tumours and skin abscesses.
  • A poultice of the seed powder is used for gouty pains,neuralgia,sciatica and skin irritarions.
  • The decoction of the seeds is given to those who are in convalescence from illness and for those who suffer from tuberculosis.
  • The same decoction is recommended as gargles,for diphtheria,throat inflammations and mouth ulcers.
  • The refreshment made from the ground seeds,sweetened with honey,is used for bronchitis and stubborn coughs.
PARTS USED:
    
The seeds by decoction.

DOSE:
    Ten grams for one litre of water. Use two cups a day.For external applications,use as needed.

FIRE PLANT AND ITS MEDICAL USAGE


MEDICINAL USE:
  • As an appetizer;helps to cure leprosy;is a carninative or an agent for expelling gases,flatulence and griping pains from the stomach and bowels;used as a tonic-gives tone and vitality of the body;checks haemorrhoids or a mass of dilated veins in the swollen tissue near the anal sphincter;to expel worms,dyspepsia or indigestion,discomfort or pain,ascites or the accumulation of liquid in the abdominal cavity,enlargement of liver,and emaciation or overall weakness.
  • Skin diseases with itching,oedema or swelling,rheumatic and paralytic affections.
  • Ophthalmia or eye problems,scabies and leucoderma.
HOW TO USE:
  • The decoction of the root will take care of all the disorders listed in part one of Medicinal use.
  • The juice of the root is mixed with coconut oil and applied externally to take care of skin diseases with itching,oedema and rheumatic and paralytic affection.
  • The watery latex applied externally will take care of ophthalmia,scabies and leucoderma.

    The root and latex of the plant.

  • The leaves are used in infusion for treatment of abnormal accumulation of  liquid s in cellular tissue,bladder complaints,diabetes,blood in urine,anaemia and dysentery.
  • The root is used as a laxative,softens inflamed parts and promotes the flow of urine.
  • The pounded leaves are used as a poultice for piles,tumours and boils.
  •  Mixed with coconut oil,the juice of the leaves is recommended for chronic skin diseases.
  • The powdered dry leaves,mixed with a little honey,make a remedy for infectious veneral disease,taken in doses of 3 to 4 teaspoons a day.
